Project overview

Plans have been submitted for a new padel tennis facility at Wavertree Sports Park on behalf of our client; Padel FC

The scheme will see the replacement of underused tennis courts with a modern, sustainable facility featuring nine padel courts – six indoors and three sheltered open-to-outdoor courts, alongside a café, retail space, changing rooms, and social areas.

Project detail

Pegasus advised the client through public tender process to become preferred bidder for the Liverpool City Council owned site, followed by pre-application enquiry and the preparation, submission, and management of a planning application for full planning permission.

Throughout the application preparation, we sought to ensure all urban design and inclusive design requirements were fully considered  while being mindful of project delivery within the client’s budget. Through our planning experts extensive pro-active engagement and negotiation with officers at Liverpool City Council, the full planning application was submitted on 25 September 2025.

Alongside Planning, our in-house Economics team produced three key outputs for the project: an infographic showcasing the economic and social benefits of the Proposed Development; a strategy report detailing employment and skills commitments; and a health and wellbeing statement aligned with local authority requirements.

If approved, the Padel FC Liverpool facility will open seven days a week and provide a year-round, all-weather sporting destination for players of all ages and abilities.

Testimonials

Speaking about the project, Darren Muir, Director at Pegasus Group, said;“We have really enjoyed working with Padel FC to bring one of Europe’s fastest-growing sports to Liverpool. From advising on the tender process, to leading the pre-application engagement and preparation of the planning submission, it has been rewarding to help shape a scheme that makes efficient use of underutilised land while delivering genuine social, economic and environmental benefits for the city.”
