Introducing Our New Chair: Jeremy Peachey

Pegasus Group is delighted to announce the appointment of Jeremy Peachey as the new Chair. With a wealth of experience and a clear vision for the future, Jeremy is poised to lead Pegasus Group into its next phase of growth and innovation.

Jeremy is in his 20th year at Pegasus Group and in that time has been responsible for leading and growing the Environment Area of Expertise. Working on projects both in the UK and internationally, he has helped to raise the profile of our landscape planning and design work.

“I am honoured to step into the role of Chair at Pegasus Group. The foundation laid by my predecessors has been instrumental in our success, and I look forward to building on this strong legacy as we explore new opportunities and challenges,” said Jeremy.

Thank You to Gary Lees

As we welcome Jeremy, we also bid farewell to Gary Lees, who has retired. Gary joined Pegasus Group in 2005, establishing the East Midlands office and growing the team from three to thirty members. During his tenure, the overall business expanded from 50 employees to more than 400.

Reflecting on his time at Pegasus Group, Gary shared: “Having worked for Pegasus Group for almost two decades and witnessing the market ebb and flow over the years, the time has come to approach things a little differently. I am looking forward to working as a sub-consultant on some key projects alongside having more time to pursue my personal interests.”

Welcoming Our New CEO: Douglas McCormick

In another significant development, Pegasus Group has appointed Douglas McCormick as our new CEO to ‘supercharge’ ongoing expansion efforts. Douglas brings an extensive and solid track record of organisational change and transformation, having led teams of more than 1,500 people and managed budgets exceeding £200 million.

Previously the executive chairman at Gleeds UK, Douglas doubled the size and profitability of the UK business within three years. His impressive career also includes roles as CEO of WYG Group PLC, CEO of Currie & Brown’s former entity Sweett Group plc, and group MD of the rail division of Atkins in the UK. With an MSc in Construction Management and a BSc in Quantity Surveying, Douglas is a RICS Fellow and has held various prestigious positions, including Non-Executive Director of the RICS Board.

“I’m delighted to be joining Pegasus Group at this pivotal point in its history and look forward to working with the teams to deliver significant growth as we build on the excellent foundations of a highly successful business,” said Douglas McCormick. “The company has grown significantly under the watchful eye of my predecessor, Nicky Parsons, and is now in a stronger and more agile position to capitalise on its ambitions. As a former apprentice, I am particularly passionate about championing opportunity for the next generation of leaders and Pegasus Group has plenty of opportunities across all its specialisms to not only deliver on but exceed client requirements.”

Thank You to Nicky Parsons

We extend our gratitude to Nicky Parsons, who will continue to play a vital role within the business following conclusion of her role as CEO yesterday (1 July 2024).

Throughout her role as CEO, Nicky developed core strategies in collaboration with the Board to modernise operations and drive future growth and will now dedicate more time to planning and supporting her team in Cambridge.

She said: “I am excited about these new changes and the potential they bring for our future. Supporting the transition and bringing Douglas on board has been an integral part of ensuring that Pegasus Group is well positioned for its next chapter. I look forward to continuing to contribute to the company’s success and working closely with our talented team.”
