Project overview

Reserved Matters approval has been secured for the development of 73 dwellings at Wilsons Lane, in partnership with Taylor Wimpey. This scheme looks to provide essential housing, including affordable options, with a strong emphasis on placemaking and landscape-led design principles.

Pegasus Group delivered comprehensive multidisciplinary services, encompassing Urban Design, Landscape Design, and Planning.

The challenge

The project represents a significant residential development within a challenging site context. The  site’s viability posed a strong challenge to our client due to its size with many planning policy constraints, including back-to-back distances and a fixed mixed housing requirement.

The solution

Pegasus successfully designed the scheme to fit the required housing mix, overcoming the complexity of the site constraints whilst adhering to detailed planning policies. In response to local needs, 25% of properties are designated for affordable housing and all homes will be equipped with energy efficient features, including PV solar panels and electrical car charging points.

Future residents will benefit from green open space, a play area for young children and easy access to the local road networks.
