Key Project Information

  • We secured permission for the development of this brownfield site comprising a former sand quarry 1.5km south of Mansfield town centre.
  • The planning, design including architecture and environment teams worked collaboratively to create a high quality and attractive development, liaising with the client’s wider team on drainage and highways, trees, ecology and net gain in biodiversity in accordance with the draft Environment Bill.

Pegasus Group secured planning permission, on behalf of Dukeries Homes, for 73 new homes including bungalows and apartments for the over 55s, at the former Sandhurst Quarry site in Mansfield.

The homes will be of varying size and type, including semi-detached and detached properties, as well as apartments offering living space over 55s, all of a bespoke design.

The site was allocated for housing within the new local plan, and our expert teams worked together to overcome key issues relating to highways and also secured a net gain in biodiversity.

The new development was designed to be flexible enough to respond to future changes in use, lifestyle and demography, which called for designing for resource efficiency, creating flexibility in the use of property, public spaces and service infrastructure and introducing new approaches to transportation, traffic management and parking.

The development will also be able to accommodate changes of use and circumstances through changing social, technological and economic conditions.
