Key Project Information

  • This was Quest’s first UK Aparthotel scheme, based in Liverpool city centre.
  • The scheme also included a conference room, pantry facilities and gym.
  • We secured planning for the conversion of the second, third and fourth floors of an existing building with a two-storey extension allowing the creation of 100 rooms – 53 studio and 47 1-bedroom apartments.

Our teams provided planning as well as urban and rural planning services for this vacant office building conversion, which aimed to restore the property to full occupancy with retail remaining on the first and ground floors.

The scheme was set to generate significant investment in Liverpool city centre while enhancing the tourist economy by way of offering an alternative accommodation to the traditional hotel model.

We secured planning for the conversion of the second, third and fourth floors of an existing building with a two-storey extension allowing the creation of 100 rooms – 53 studio and 47 1-bedroom apartments.

The planning application included:

  • Conversion of the second, third and fourth floors of vacant office building
  • Two-storey extension
  • Delivery of 53 studio and 47 1-bed apartments along with conference room, pantry facilities and gym.

The design of the extension saw it set back from the rest of the building with feature bronze panelling. Similar panels were applied to the nonglazed elements of the front elevation and some windows to maintain the rhythm of the façade.
