Key Project Information

  • 480 new homes, of which 15% will be affordable.
  • Architecturally led, high quality homes that support the town’s sustainable growth and meet an identified need.
  • Significant economic benefits arising through the proposal and associated s106 contributions.

Tantallon Homes is a local Northumberland based housebuilder with a focus on creating local jobs during construction and building high-quality places for people to live.

We first worked with Tantallon Homes in 2022 to finalise the S106 agreement of the outline planning application for the residential development of land south and south east of James Calvert Spence College, Amble, which the LPA had previously minded to grant.

Now, we’ve been working to refine the detailed design and submit the subsequent reserved matters application.

Our landscape and design teams worked closely with the Council during the pre-application and application stages to ensure the detailed proposals promoted key concepts of good design and sustainability. Key features include architecturally led designed homes, active travel infrastructure and an attractive parklands area providing green space and areas for play.

The reserved matters scheme was approved at Northumberland County Council’s Strategic Planning Committee on 05 March 2024.

  • £1,118,000 towards primary and special education needs
  • £345,000 towards increasing primary healthcare infrastructure capacity
  • £420,612 towards off-site outdoor sports provision in Amble.
