Details of access, appearance, landscaping, layout and scale were approved for the four shops, pub, and children’s day nursery.

Permission was also granted for a new retail store with associated car parking, landscaping and other infrastructure, which is to be occupied by Aldi. There will be 104 parking spaces, of which seven will be disabled bays and seven parent and child bays, while four of the bays will have electric charging points.

The site forms part of the wider Teal Close development which has outline planning permission for new homes, a primary school, hotel, care home and public open space.

James ClarkJames Clark, Senior Planner from Pegasus Group’s East Midlands office, said: “We are pleased that Gedling Borough Council has followed the advice of officers and approved, with conditions, both of these planning applications.

“The site is located within the area designated as part of the wider sustainable urban extension and will serve the day to day needs of the 800 residential dwellings forming part of the wider SUE.”
