Leading development consultancy to move into new Newcastle office to accommodate a growing team and expanded services in the region

February 2025 – Leading multidisciplinary development consultancy, Pegasus Group, has today announced that it will be moving to a new office in Newcastle.

Located in the heart of the city centre, Pegasus Group’s new space will act as a focal point for the expansion of its full multi-disciplinary offering to the region.

The news comes at a time of growth for the consultancy as it strives to diversify the work undertaken in the region and follows a series of senior hires, including Dominic Waugh as Senior Director of Planning and Eleanor Scott as Senior Heritage Consultant. Following the delivery of the deeper devolution agreement between the Government and North East Mayoral Combined Authority last year, offering a potential £4.2bn of investment into the region, Pegasus Group has bolstered efforts to support and facilitate regional development.

Since moving into the Grade II listed, Gainsborough House in 2020, the team has grown by 300%, underscored by the expansion of the planning, heritage and urban design teams. This move will see Pegasus Group take up a larger space at Gainsborough House, spanning over 5,380 sq. ft.

Commenting on the move, Sandra Manson, Pegasus Group’s Executive Director, Planning, said: “Gainsborough House is a great, vibrant location to do business. So, we’re delighted that our ambitious North East expansion plans will be accommodated by investing in further space on one of the most iconic streets in the UK. Our commitment and investment to the new office will create a great environment for the team and we look forward to welcoming many new faces in the coming months, while also fostering relationships with our city and development partners”

Pegasus Group is leasing the office space from Newcastle-based Adderstone Group, who acquired the five-storey Gainsborough House in 2018. Since then, the regeneration and property development specialist has invested significantly in modernising the Grade II listed building, including a new entrance/reception area along with new cycle storage, shower facilities, LED lighting and raised flooring.

Adderstone Group’s commercial estates surveyor Charlie Harkness, who handled the deal, said: “Gainsborough House is one of the most prestigious office buildings in the heart of the city. We’re delighted to be able to accommodate Pegasus Group’s development and growth ambitions and wish Sandra and the team the best of luck in their new home.”

Alongside Pegasus Group, the new office is currently home to a mix of commercial and leisure operators, including recruitment company Manpower and Hits Radio (formerly Metro Radio). Pegasus Group’s investment in its Newcastle operations will see its office fit out designed by Office Monster and completed in the first quarter of 2025.
