Alex joined Pegasus Group in January 2007. His primary area of expertise is development control based, specialising in Heritage and Conservation of the Built Environment. He is responsible for advising clients of the heritage, planning policy and development control issues to be considered in purchasing land and buildings for redevelopment, formulating applications for listed building consent and planning permission and dealing with appeals and enforcement cases. Alex has been, and is currently involved in a number of development proposals relating to the historic environment including restoration projects, site appraisals and assessments for residential, commercial and mixed use proposals.
Alex has been involved in the preparation of planning and heritage assessments for both small scale householder applications, private estates and large urban extensions. His work involves the analysis of both local, regional and national planning policies and guidance and the interpretation of them with regard to the proposed development with a specific focus on the historic environment and heritage assets.
Alex’s experience ranges from small scale advice on permitted development rights and householder applications, through to the detailed planning of mixed use commercial developments. Alex has also been involved in preparing numerous submissions regarding future development within the Conservation Areas and applications and appeals regarding development involving Scheduled Monuments, Listed Buildings and within Conservation Areas and other historic areas.
