National development consultancy Pegasus Group is pleased to announce the approval of a major new housing development by Crest Nicholson Yorkshire at Melton Road, Sprotbrough, on the outskirts of Doncaster.

The City of Doncaster Council granted permission at its planning committee, paving the way for the construction of 69 new homes in line with the council’s strategic plan.

The scheme marks a milestone for Crest Nicholson as the first development to be undertaken by its new regional arm, Crest Nicholson Yorkshire. Crest’s Sprotbrough scheme will serve as a flagship development for Crest Nicholson Yorkshire, highlighting its commitment to bespoke vernacular design and use of high-quality materials.

Pegasus Group provided planning, urban design and landscape services to Crest Nicholson Yorkshire. James Bush, Urban Design Director at Pegasus said: “This development will deliver much-needed homes in a highly accessible location. It will provide high-quality homes that respect and respond to the local character of Sprotbrough. Crest’s commitment to detail and achieving high quality design makes them a fantastic client to represent.”

Paul Thornton, Head of Land and Planning at Crest Nicholson Yorkshire, added: “We’re proud to be embarking on this venture in the north, and the approval of our first development is a significant achievement for us. Sprotbrough holds great potential as a showcase site, and we’re committed to creating exceptional homes that positively add to a sense of local character and place. We’d like to thank Pegasus Group for their hard work, dedication and expertise in securing the site.”

Construction work is scheduled for later this year.
