New area of expertise gives Pegasus’ clients greater continuity through project delivery

26th January 2025 Leading multidisciplinary development consultancy Pegasus Group has today announced that it has launched a new Building Surveying service as its strategic expansion accelerates.

This new area of expertise is a response to demand from clients for Pegasus to remain at the heart of their projects past the design and planning stage. The team will undertake work in both surveying and project management, giving clients even greater continuity and value for money.

The Building Surveying team is joining Pegasus from a major property and construction consultancy and will be headed by Senior Director James Pitt. James brings with him 15 years of experience in surveying, including nine years at Strutt & Parker. The eight-strong team has been working together for more than five years and has valuable longstanding relationships with businesses across the private and public sectors.

The team are experts in working on the most challenging building surveying projects across a wide range of industries including commercial, industrial, healthcare and education, alongside Pegasus’ core residential and heritage work.

The eight-strong team, which is set to grow over the next 12 months, also includes Crawford Paciej, Joe Hanley, Richard Serle and Sven Howkins. With a strong foundation of shared experience and expertise, the combined team will be targeting new business opportunities, while also enhancing Pegasus’ multidisciplinary offering.

Douglas McCormick, CEO of Pegasus, said: “Clients have long asked us to continue our involvement with their projects beyond the design and planning stage. Until now we haven’t been able to do that. Growing into new service lines is a natural next step in our strategic expansion and we’re delighted to now be able to offer building surveying and project management expertise to our clients.

“The addition of building surveying to the work we can do is a significant step for our business and our clients. Rather than having to embed a new provider into a project part way through – and risking that not working out – our clients can now keep us involved through a greater portion of the project lifecycle.”

James Pitt, Senior Director of Building Surveying at Pegasus, added: “The team is looking forward to getting to work with our clients and helping them get even more from their relationship with Pegasus. Continuity is a big generator of value in this industry and that’s what we’re now able to offer.

“We are a close-knit team, and we have been working together for a long time. The opportunity to build a new service line the right way at Pegasus was an appealing one for all of us. We’re keen to contribute to the business’ strategic growth by establishing the Building Surveying arm with the aim of developing our national offering.”
