Jumpstarting My Career: Jade’s First Impressions at Pegasus

Discovering the Perfect Fit: Jade’s Journey Begins at Pegasus

Jade, a 23-year-old recent graduate from Oxford Brookes University, embarked on a unique journey to find her passion. Initially uncertain about her career path, Jade explored various opportunities, including working in an estate agency and backpacking, before discovering her love for urban design. Her foundation course at Oxford Brookes sparked her interest, leading her to pursue a degree in Urban Design, Planning and Development.

It was while at university that Jade first learned about Pegasus and its graduate scheme.  She spoke with representatives from Pegasus at a built environment fair and the company’s mentoring system and commitment to graduate development instantly appealed to her.

Overcoming Challenges with Support

Since joining Pegasus, Jade has already seen significant growth in her technical abilities, particularly in IT, an area she previously lacked confidence in. The supportive environment at the Cambridge office has played a crucial role in this development. “Pegasus and the team have been amazing, completely supporting me and helping me feel confident in my skills. The team is so approachable, and I feel comfortable asking for help whenever I need it,” said Jade.

Diverse Learning Opportunities

One of the standout aspects of Jade’s experience so far is the variety of projects she has been involved in. Despite being new to the company, Jade has been given numerous opportunities to learn and contribute. “Every day is different, and I come away feeling like I’ve learned something new. Pegasus is very open to getting me involved and teaching me, which is amazing” Jade explained.

A Culture of Support and Growth

Jade attributes much of her positive experience to the company culture. The welcoming, supportive, and approachable environment at Pegasus has boosted her confidence and allowed her to thrive both personally and professionally. “The atmosphere in the office is fantastic. People are friendly, supportive, and always willing to help. This has made a huge difference in my confidence and professional growth,” she noted.

Looking Ahead: Future Aspirations

Eager to continue her journey at Pegasus Jade aims to become a well-rounded designer. She appreciates the personalised approach of the graduate scheme, which supports individual aspirations and provides ample opportunities for learning and development. “Pegasus is very committed to helping graduates progress and learn. I want to create great places for people to live sustainably and healthily, and I believe Pegasus will help me achieve that,” she concluded.

For any graduates considering a career at Pegasus, Jade advises taking full advantage of the assessment centre to talk openly with the team. “The commitment to graduate learning and development at Pegasus is unparalleled. It’s a supportive yet challenging environment that’s perfect for anyone eager to learn and grow,” Jade said.
