Niamh’s Inspiring Career Progression at Pegasus

Niamh joined Pegasus in August 2021, shortly after completing her economics degree at the University of Liverpool. She first heard about the company during a virtual careers fair amid the COVID-19 pandemic and was drawn to its focus on economic development, which aligned with her academic background.
She joined the two-year Pegasus Graduate Scheme as a Graduate Analyst and quickly demonstrated her capabilities within a small, dynamic team. This close-knit environment enabled her to take on plenty of responsibilities early on, accelerating her professional growth. She soon advanced to the position of Economic Analyst and continued to excel, eventually becoming a Senior Economic Analyst by January 2024.
“The support and opportunities provided by Pegasus have been instrumental in my career progression. The hands-on experience and the chance to learn from various disciplines within the company have been invaluable,” Niamh shared.
Initially, Niamh wasn’t as confident as she’d like to have been, but Pegasus’s support helped her through the transition from university to the workplace. With targeted training and three years of practical experience, her confidence grew, enabling her to contribute significantly to her team and the wider company. She now leads her own projects and takes part in more direct client interactions and collaborations with various internal teams.
One of Niamh’s most memorable projects was the regeneration of Huddersfield town centre, her hometown. The Kirklee’s Cultural Heart project allowed her to witness her work’s tangible impact on the community.
Niamh attributes much of her success to Pegasus’s culture and values. The company’s approachability and supportive environment, along with generous employee benefits, have fostered a strong sense of belonging and professional growth. She particularly appreciates the social opportunities provided, such as the annual Christmas party and summer day out, which have helped her to build strong relationships with her colleagues.
Looking ahead, Niamh aspires to become a Principal Analyst, focusing on project management and client relations. She is excited about the growth potential at Pegasus and eager to contribute to the continued expansion of the economics team.

For current graduates considering Pegasus, Niamh advises, “Join the scheme and get involved in a broad range of projects. Make the most of training opportunities and network within the company. The support and experience you’ll gain are unparalleled.”
