Graduate Scheme.

One year ago, I joined within Pegasus Group as a Graduate. I highly enjoy the people I work closely with in Bristol and am very grateful for the nationwide graduate class that I’ve been progressing alongside. The class has gifted me both learning and friends, allowing us insights into each’s speciality professions, and shared reflections on our individual growth and collective navigation of the professional environment.

Pegasus continues to grow, yet the strong communication between offices has never been compromised. Now halfway through my Graduate Programme, I can confidently say I have never felt like just another cog in the system, but a valued team member contributing meaningfully to every project I’ve been involved in. I’ve been given the right support and opportunities to develop, helping me grow both professionally and personally as a young planner.

My first year at Pegasus has flown by! I have been able to experience working on a vast array of design projects, from assisting with small scale technical layouts to large scale masterplans. I have been able to develop my urban design skills from leading industry professionals in a varied and dynamic environment. My path into Urban Design at Pegasus involved completing an undergraduate degree in Interior Architecture and Design and a masters in Sustainable Urbanism before working in public sector spatial planning. These experiences solidified my interest in creating sustainable and attractive places for people to inhabit and I feel fulfilled in my role knowing I have the ability to make a positive difference whilst using my creative design skills. The graduate scheme has exposed me to the multi-faceted nature of development and what Pegasus has to offer, whilst teaching me valuable skills that will enhance my career and personal development. I am very grateful for the guidance and support I have received from colleagues from all corners of the company who take the time to invest in you.

Being part of the graduate scheme at Pegasus has been a great opportunity to immerse myself not only in architecture and design, but also in the planning field. Working in a multidisciplinary firm has allowed me to develop a wide range of transferable skills and learn from different perspectives. It’s been a privilege to start out in a small team of five and see it grow, there’s a real sense of progression and collaboration here.

Collaborating with graduates across planning, design, and environmental disciplines has deepened my understanding of integrated urban development and supported my growth both professionally and personally. This experience has directly informed my contributions to masterplanning projects for major housebuilders—including Barratt, Redrow, Miller, and Taylor Wimpey—delivering thoughtful, design-led solutions across the North West and beyond.

The graduate scheme offers a diverse range of tasks and challenges, providing hands-on experience that sharpens your skills, along with a variety of CPD opportunities to support continuous learning and development.

I joined Pegasus Group as a Graduate Planner 10 months ago and was immediately struck by the welcoming work environment and the supportive nature of my colleagues. I’ve had the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects across residential and retail sectors, including both city-centre and greenfield sites. This variety has made Pegasus an ideal place to start my career, especially as I work toward RTPI chartership. The combination of hands-on experience and a genuinely encouraging team has been invaluable. I genuinely look forward to coming to work each day, knowing there’s always something new to learn.

What I really value about Pegasus Group is all the effort they’ve put into ensuring that we have the best start to our career at the company. From Graduate Training Days that introduce you to the company’s many areas of expertise, to the endless effort that goes into in-office training from line managers and senior colleagues, Pegasus Group has made me feel very settled and equipped with all the support I need to grow my career here.

In my first year at Pegasus, I’ve worked on a wide range of projects across the UK, which has helped me learn a lot quickly and given me a broad range of experience early on. The graduate programme has offered practical sessions tailored to early career development and it’s also been a great way to stay connected with other grads across the company.
