Plans for 300 new homes and a community hub in Gateshead have been approved.

Pegasus Group supported the Gateshead Regeneration Partnership with Vistry Homes and Gateshead Council, to secure planning permission on part of the Gateshead Exemplar Regeneration Site for 300 homes.

The site was the former freight depot which has been demolished to make way for a variety of new homes in a scheme which is family oriented and promotes an active lifestyle. The application includes a new community hub and 15% of the homes will be affordable housing.

Pegasus Group’s Newcastle office secured the approval, overcoming the challenges of a heavily contaminated and potentially unviable site, which resulted in planning policy and compliance tensions. The production of a c comprehensive Compliance and Planning Balance report and negotiation undertaken by the team has ensured the success of the application which will enable the site to deliver on its housing delivery target.
