Pegasus Group was retained by the developer to find and acquire sites for renewable energy purposes across the UK.

This particular site in Yorkshire was the first to be taken forward with a viable grid connection.

On behalf of retained developer clients, we successfully identified and agreed to acquire a 200-acre parcel of land in Yorkshire, subject to the obtainment of planning permission, for the development and operation of a solar farm.

The land was identified as flat, free from restrictions and south facing, making it an ideal acquisition for our clients to develop and in turn produce clean energy for connection into the local distribution network.

The site was identified using specialist GIS model which had been tailored specifically to meet the needs of our client.  Using this software, we were able to shortlist a number of sites, ensuring each land was well suited for its intended use.

We then made the approach to the landowner, formerly agreeing the conditional acquisition, using market knowledge and expertise of the energy sector to agree deal that was in the best interest of our client, both financially and in terms of development viability.

The property team were then able to proceed with a formal agreement and allow the Planning team to take over with obtaining the appropriate consent.

Having the ability to involve other departments such as Economics, Transport, Planning and Heritage at an early stage of identifications and assessments, allows us to avoid issues in a later stage of the process.

We offer full cycle identification, acquisition, and viability, through to a full-scale planning service or economic impact assessment, no matter the intended use.
