Key Project Information
- New special educational needs school in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire
- The school will support the needs and learning of pupils with autism and social, emotional and mental health needs
- 160-place school is due to open by 2026
This project forms a key part of a wider programme spearheaded by the County Council to create 375 additional special educational needs and disability (SEND) school places across Nottinghamshire, catering for pupils with autism and social, emotional and mental health needs.
Research has identified that the north of the county has a greater need for specialist SEND investment, so this new facility will meet the needs of children and young people living in Mansfield and Ashfield.
The school incorporates specialist design interventions tailored to meet the needs of its pupils, such as sensory zones and an escape space, which will support and complement pupils’ learning.
We led on all planning matters, advising Arc Partnership, who is designing and delivering the project for Nottinghamshire County Council, on planning strategy and managing the submission and negotiation of the planning application.
