Key Project Information
- Our design team put together a plan for a new residential development located on the southern edge of Framlingham on a sloping site that took advantage of views across the wider countryside while respecting views from Framlingham Castle to the north.
- We provided planning, design, landscape design, urban design & masterplanning services.
- Full planning permission was granted in April 2016.
The sloping site all the way down to Fairfied Road provided the opportunity for a linear open space at the front of with a series of shallow depressions running right along the western boundary.
The plans were for a range of housing including 2 and 3 bed terraced properties and 4 and 5 bed family homes.
They drew on inspiration from Framlingham’s local vernacular through a ‘market town modern’ architectural approach.
Construction utilised a mix of materials including red brick and white render to complement Framlingham’s historic core integrating the site with its local surroundings.
