We acted on behalf of Liveman Properties and Southway Housing Trust to secured detailed planning consent for a 100% affordable housing scheme comprised of 39 shared ownership flats in one of the least affordable areas of Manchester.

Our expert teams led pre-application consultation with local residents which included arranging a drop-in consultation event, preparing consultation boards and collating consultation responses along with the preparation of a Statement of Community Involvement.

Our team then led on the planning application. This involved leading the pre and post-submission negotiations, managing the project team and preparing supporting reports including the Planning Statement and Draft s106 Heads of Terms. The Planning Statement demonstrated the acute need for affordable housing in the local area drawing upon a range of data sources and demonstrated the suitability of the site given its sustainable location on the edge of Chorlton district centre despite a number of policy and on-site constraints.

The site is currently under construction by Southway Housing Trust. Southway Housing Trust is a Registered Provider who deliver affordable housing schemes across the Manchester area, with a particular focus in South Manchester.
