Teams from Pegasus Group have been shortlisted in two awards at the annual Midlands Residential Property Awards.

The national consultants are part of teams in Deal of the Year and Apartment Development of the Year going through to the final to be held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on Thursday, November 26.

Shortlisted in Deal of the Year is the Purchase of Callendar Farm, Nuneaton, while the Austin Heath development in Warwickshire competes in Apartment Development of the Year.

The sale of land at Callendar Farm, paving the way for 850 new homes, a local centre and land for provision of a primary school, was completed on Friday, 24th April 2020 to Taylor Wimpey (West Midlands) and Jelson Homes, with Pegasus Group securing planning permission for 1,000 dwellings. The client was advised by Fisher German and Gateley Legal and David Morley Consultants and Knights make up the rest of the shortlisted team.

Tony Bateman, Managing Director at Pegasus Group said: “This was a particularly long drawn out negotiation to get the permission through, which required numerous amendments and also a complex s106 agreement. The resultant permission was an important element in the overall sale of the site.”

Austin Heath is a retirement village in Warwick providing stylish, purpose-built accommodation for over-65s with a range of communal facilities and services for residents focused on promoting holistic wellbeing.

Pegasus Group, led by Senior Director Jonathan Rainey, provided Planning Consultancy services for client Inspired Villages which resulted in the delivery of 167 units over 3 phases. The shortlisted team also includes Tyack Architects, Pozzoni Architecture, Castle Construction Consultants, Engie and Portus & Whitton.

Jonathan said: “Given the scale and complexity of the scheme, we identified key stakeholders to work with throughout the planning process, including Warwickshire County Council’s Adult Social Service department and Warwick District Council’s housing and planning teams.

“I’m really pleased to see this purpose-built facility for older people that has community at its heart shortlisted for an award.”

More than 140 businesses and schemes are highlighted in the annual Insider awards, which Midlands Business editor Kurt Jacobs describes as ‘among the very best’ in what has been a challenging year for the sector – but a very active one.
