Leading development consultancy Pegasus Group has moved its Central Birmingham office to 1 Newhall Street, just a stone’s throw from its previous premises, creating a more inspiring environment for employees and room for further expansion.
At 6,000sq ft, the new office has been well received by both employees and clients following their successful office launch at the end of November.
Keith Fenwick, Senior Director at Pegasus Group’s Central Birmingham office, said: “I am delighted that Pegasus Group has made this significant investment in our city centre presence.
“We had outgrown our old offices on Bennetts Hill and needed the extra space to continue our progression.
“The new facility has completely changed the way we work. We have introduced a clear desk policy so people sit next to different colleagues each day. This is particularly useful for the junior members of the team who get a wider breadth of knowledge as a consequence of being with different people.
“There are numerous pods, break-out areas and meet-up rooms which are really helping to boost collaborative work and creativity.
“The kitchen area is encouraging people to take proper breaks and to engage with colleagues.
“All in all, people are more relaxed. The office is a fantastic area within a city with a great vibe. We believe we’ve taken the best parts of working from home and the traditional office environment and combined both to create a modern hybrid.
“We still offer flexible working and working from home has its merits, but we’re finding people want to come into the office and work here. I think during the pandemic the obituaries for offices were written too quickly. We’re social creatures by nature and they still have a role to play.”
Pegasus Group has signed a 10-year lease on the property.
The business has 22 members of staff based in the central Birmingham office, including 12 planners, four from the transport and infrastructure team, architects, heritage experts and the Group’s health & safety coordinator.
With its 32-seat boardroom, the new office can also be used as a central location for Pegasus Group board meetings and activity and the business’ graduates also use the building for training.
Clients are also able to use the space and events such as breakfast seminars are also planned.
Keith added: “This is the best working environment I have experienced in my 35 years. It’s a significant recruitment tool for us because people will want to work here.
“We have aspirations to grow this office and add more sectors to it in the years to come and this building gives us the opportunity to do that.”
