Clients wishing to appeal by Inquiry are now required to notify the local planning authority and the Planning Inspectorate a minimum of 10 working days before the appeal is submitted. If you are appealing close to the 6 month deadline, this is an important new provision to be aware of.
The change comes following recommendations made in the recent Rosewell Independent Review of Planning Appeal Inquiries advising that appeal times could potentially be reduced from 47 weeks to 26 weeks.
A template needs to be completed 10 days in advance of appeal submissions which can be found here on the Gov.uk website.
In addition, guidance on new arrangements for the Statement of Case and Statement of Common Ground are due to be released in the coming weeks.
