Hilary is a Chartered Landscape Architect with considerable experience of development and environmental projects throughout the United Kingdom. She provides landscape planning and design advice for a wide range of project types including residential development, energy / power generation schemes, urban extensions, city centre regeneration, tall buildings and retirement living complexes. Projects have encompassed urban, rural, historic landscapes, reclamation sites as well as offshore schemes for commercial, public, institutional and private clients.
Hilary is highly experienced in working in multi-disciplinary environments, providing cross-discipline advice and support to achieve robust assessments, and effective mitigation and enhancement strategies. She provides landscape/townscape/seascape and visual input into the site design and master planning processes, including site searches, feasibility studies, landscape appraisals, and landscape and visual impact assessment. Hilary can also provide both Townscape and Seascape Impact Assessments (TVIA and SVIA). Key to her advice is a thorough understanding of how landscape and visual considerations, such as views, landscape character, features, topography and aspect contribute to a successful master planning process.
She has contributed to projects which range in size from individual properties to urban extensions to the creation of potential new settlements of more than 10,000 homes, and has worked on Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIP).
