Chris is an experienced archaeology and heritage consultant, he has successfully managed hundreds of commercial assessments, including complex EIAs in relation to:

  • linear infrastructure, pipelines, electricity cabling and pylon schemes, mineral transport systems and carbon capture and storage schemes;
  • large-scale renewable/green energy schemes, including solar parks, wind parks and energy storage sites;
  • large-scale residential developments, including local plan and other land promotions, SHLAA, strategic allocation sites, and urban extensions; and
  • city centre developments including – high-rise infrastructure, large-scale regeneration projects and conversion of key buildings with complex setting issues and Conservation Area sensitivities.

Christopher’s key technical expertise include the commercial application of a landscape archaeology method, historic landscape modelling, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), LiDAR processing and analysis, and aerial photograph and historic mapping analysis. His period specialisms are European prehistory, and early medieval and medieval Britain. Christopher is also experienced in archaeological fieldwork procurement and management, including geophysical survey, evaluation trenching, strip, map and sample excavation, and archaeological monitoring (watching brief).
