Pegasus Group successfully negotiated planning permission to redevelop this vacant and derelict former industrial site for much-needed housing. The site itself lies within a conservation area in a popular village and is adjacent to several listed buildings. It had become increasingly derelict as the industrial use ceased leaving behind buildings that did not contribute to either the appearance or the well-being of this village.
There was general agreement with local people that the site needed to be regenerated for the benefit of the village as a whole.
A high quality scheme that addressed local needs was required as was an innovative solution to the restricted access arrangements at the site. The final scheme successfully achieved all of these things, winning praise from officers and Councillors.
Pegasus was also involved in successfully negotiating off-site payments for a reduced level of affordable housing as well as assisting in getting the legal agreement completed prior to the introduction of the Council’s Community Infrastructure Levy just two weeks later.
