Pegasus Group secured outline planning permission for Barratt Homes to deliver up to 121 new dwellings at Land north of Wotton Road.
Following non-determination by South Gloucestershire Council, Pegasus Group represented the client at inquiry, including providing expert witness for planning.
The proposal overcame a number of technical issues including objections from ecology, heritage, policy and transport officers and from Network Rail through a Statement of Common Ground. However, the Council contested the proposal on the grounds of ‘prematurity’ in respect of the emerging West of England Joint Spatial Plan.
The Inspector’s decision to grant permission set a key precedent for other housebuilders in quashing this argument in the absence of a five-year housing land supply.
Pegasus Group has recently submitted a reserved matters application and discharge of conditions application, and continues to advise on the delivery of the site.
