Outline planning permission for 100 new homes in the village of Warton, near Polesworth, has been approved by North Warwickshire Borough Council. The outline application included 40 per cent of affordable housing, open space, drainage and landscaping.
Pegasus Group secured the permission, subject to conditions, on behalf of Richborough Estates, in advance of the adoption of the emerging Local Plan.
The application was initially heard at the Borough’s Planning Committee meeting in April this year, but was deferred because of concerns over the cumulative highways impact of development in the village, as well as regarding the positioning of the proposed site access. The application was reverted back to Planning Committee in July, following re-consultation with County Highways, whereby it was approved, subject to conditions.
The vision for the development, is to create an attractive neighbourhood which respects the existing settlement edge and the wider vernacular of Warton. The development will positively accentuate Warton as a place to live, incorporating valued aspects of local landscape character, visual amenity and biodiversity.
