On behalf of a number of clients, Pegasus Group submitted representations on the draft Greater Manchester Spatial Framework (GMSF), which sets out housing and employment land requirements for the conurbation over the next 20 years.
The economics team provided input to the reps, with analysis focusing on:
- A review of the Greater Manchester economy’s past performance, looking at how it has been transformed in the last 20 years.
- A critique of the GMSF growth assumptions – looking at future trends in the resident employment rate, job numbers and economic output.
- A review of how the GMSF defines the housing market area for Greater Manchester.
- Analysis of the GMSF housing target, looking at the extent to which it will meet future need for Greater Manchester.
