Pegasus Group successfully gained planning permission for 95 new properties in the village of Steeple Claydon on behalf of Crest Nicholson. The site was originally refused outline planning permission in May 2016 but appealed and subsequently approved in July 2017.

The sloping nature of the site was the main constraint in developing the proposals ensuring that level access could be gained to individual dwellings. The scheme fronts onto and is accessed via Buckingham Road with large mature trees providing an attractive entrance to the scheme.

As part of the design process, Pegasus Group held two pre-application meetings with Aylesbury Vale District Council to discuss the Reserved Matters application, specifically addressing:

  • A re-distribution of affordable housing
  • The introduction of continuous perimeter loop road
  • The widening of a central area of open space to accommodate a LEAP
  • Parking courts and additional pedestrian links
