Pegasus Group’s design team helped to gain full planning permission in April 2016 for 163 dwellings at Fairfield Road, Framlingham for Taylor Wimpey. The proposed development is located on the southern edge of Framlingham on a sloping site that takes advantage of views of the wider countryside, whilst respecting views from Framlingham Castle to the north. The sloping nature of the site, which falls down to Fairfield Road provided the opportunity to include a linear open space at the front of the site accommodating a series of shallow depressions which runs right along the western boundary.
A mix of terraced 2 and 3 bed houses are proposed along with larger 4 and 5 bed family houses which draw inspiration from Framlingham’s local vernacular through a ‘market town modern’ architectural approach. A mix of materials including red brick and white render complement Framingham’s historic core integrating the site with its local surroundings.
