Pegasus have provided Urban Design, Landscape Design, Arboricultural and LVIA services for a Full Planning Application for residential development in Drayton, Oxfordshire.

Through working with Drayton2020 Neighbourhood Plan Group and Bloor Homes (the applicant), Pegasus have explored several development options over the last 18 months including an initial design concept for 100 dwellings, a design concept for 200 dwellings (to accord with Vale of White Horse DC Strategic Development Sites Template) and most recently a proposal for 140 dwellings reflecting aspirations of the Drayton2020 Neighbourhood Plan Group.

A significant change to the proposals which has emerged through working with Drayton2020 Neighbourhood Plan Group has been the introduction of public open space along the western boundary, to act as a natural buffer between the existing residents and the proposed dwellings. In addition, single story units were located here to further reduce the impact on existing residents, whilst at the same time being located close to existing facilities of Drayton. Consequently, this arrangement provided the opportunity to introduce a circular pedestrian route through the public open space along a series of natural play trails, providing links to the wider pedestrian network at High Street and Drayton East Way bridleway.
